Homeschool Library Day Wednesdays | 1:00 pm Ages 12 & under Homeschoolers, we are reading “Maze of Bones” (pick up 5/1 and discuss 5/8) and “Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy” (pick up 5/15 and discuss 5/22), and discussing them with some fun games mixed in! Mother’s Day Take and Make Tuesday, May 7 - Saturday, May 11 Available while supplies last Drop in and make a Paper Bag Book for Mother’s Day! Uke Club Tuesday, May 7 | 5:00 pm Ages 8 & up We're getting the band back together! All skill levels welcome to this entry-level program. Bring your own Uke or borrow one of ours. Plant the Garden Saturday, May 11 | 11:00 am Kids and families Meet Mr. Aaron and Ms. Raina in the library garden and we will plant for 2024. Vegetables and flowers go in the soil, mud on your hands, and popsicles for all that help! You'll be in the Carnegie Kids Garden Club! Crochet with Flora Saturday, May 11 | 11:00 am Ages 7-12 Kids Teaching Kids! Crochet with Flora is a casual crochet club for kids. Beginners and experienced crafters are welcome! Lego Robot Club Tuesday, May 14 | 4:30 pm Ages 7-12 We're working with Lego motors, Lego Boost, and Mindstorms to see what robots we can design! Playtime 11:00 am There will be no Hello Friends Storytime until the summer reading program begins. Families are invited to visit the library Thursdays at 11:00 for playtime! Children & Teen Events Weekly Story Times Summer Reading Kickoff Bonnie's Books 11:00 am Location: Jeffersonville United Methodist Church 13 E High St, Jeffersonville Ages 5 & Under Wednesday, May 29 | 11:00 am Grace Methodist Church 301 E Market St, WCH Come meet the friendly and magical Picasso, a 40year-old box turtle, and learn how to twist your very own balloon animals with Erica Carlson, a balloon artist with over 25 years of experience during Balloon Animal Art with Picasso the live Turtle! Afterwards, stop by the library between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm where we will have several opportunities for fun! In the Children’s Department, have your face painted, take home a twisted balloon sculpture, and participate in crafts and activities. Upstairs in the adult department, sign up for the 2024 Summer Reading Program, get a new library card, learn about Libby and Hoopla, pick up a calendar of summer events, and pickup a take and make craft!
