Summer Reading Kickoff Wednesday, May 29 I 11 am- 6 pm Grace Methodist Church 301 E Market St, WCH Come meet the friendly and magical Picasso, a 40-year-old box turtle, and learn how to twist your very own balloon animals with Erica Carlson, a balloon artist with over 25 years of experience during Balloon Animal Art with Picasso the live Turtle! Afterwards, stop by the library between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm where we will have several opportunities for fun! In the Children’s Department, have your face painted, take home a twisted balloon sculpture, and participate in crafts and activities. Upstairs in the adult department, sign up for the 2024 Summer Reading Program, get a new library card, learn about Libby and Hoopla, pick up a calendar of summer events, and pickup a take and make craft! Springy Science with Crystal Clear Wednesday, June 26 I 1 pm Belle Aire Intermediate School Crystal Clear is back for her third year with fun and entertaining science programs! Ohio School of Falconry Tuesday, August 6 I 1 pm Soccer Fields outside of the YMCA Meet and learn about five different owls, hawks, falcons, and buzzards, and learn about everything from raptor conservation to the sport of falconry! See the trucks and equipment firefighters use to protect us. Washington City Service Dept. This is where tractors are bought, sold, repaired, and maintained. Deer Creek Dam Tuesday, July 2 I 11 am 13745 Crownover Mill Rd., Mt. Sterling Step above and into the dam to learn how the engineers create recreational and natural areas and manage floodwaters.
